Upon Reflection This Past Week
I’ve spent today cleaning, preparing myself for the week ahead and reflecting on the past few weeks and the many blessings I have had.
I first heard this reading last Sunday at Church, and the words have stuck with me. And so I thought I would share this with you …
“Share your bread with the hungry, and shelter the homeless poor, clothe the man you see to be nakedand turn not from your own kin. Then will your light shine like the dawnand your wound be quickly healed over.…If you give your bread to the hungry, and relief to the oppressed, your light will rise in the darkness, and your shadows become like noon”
From Prophet Isiah 58:7-10
This reading, to me, can be interpreted in many different ways. But ultimately this reading is encouraging our passion to help others. I’m not a believer, and this reading isn’t stating, that you should do a good deed to better your self-reputation; however, it is pointing out that in the eyes of God it is within our duties as humans to help one an other. Worshipper of the church or not, this reading touches everyone, religious or atheist. We’re all living, we are all learning, we should all be helping.
Make your light shine brighter over this next week!
Also this past week I have been helping raise awareness for #WeCanICan World Cancer Day. This campaign is an important, factual and informative campaign and throughout the month of February I will be updating my page with many different aspects and educational points about Cancer and the help the organisation needs.
Please keep a look out for them and share to help us spread the awareness!
On Friday, Elizabeth and I went on BBC Radio Lancashire. Miss England, our gorgeous #TeamNorth member and former Miss Preston helped me land the spot on the show and fulfilled on of my 2017 goals.
Not only is Lizzie a friend, but she is an inspiration. Title or no title, the respect I have for this selfless, fun, and crazy caring girl is immense. I owe her great thanks for helping me gain this opportunity.
On the show, hosted at The Leaf or Bean Cafe in Preston, we discussed Liz’s events and plans for her future reign and also what my intentions and goals where throughout the length of my title. We had such good fun laughing about our own title stories and the fun things we have planned.
You can catch up with our interview at this link and fast forward to around 2hrs 30mins!
