Scouting for Junior & Miss Preston 2017
Yesterday I had the best time scouting for the next Miss and Junior Miss Preston 2017. Having had been scouted myself, I understand the importance of explaining what this competition is actually about and how educating others can benefit them immensely!
I shudders me to think what I would be doing if I hadn’t have got involved with this organisation. When I say this, people think, we’ll you’d probably still be at University etc… but I don’t think I would. This competition taught me more than how to walk on a catwalk and how to wear a sash and crown. I learnt that I love media, I have learnt how to video edit, I have learnt that I love business and the art of fundraising, I have learnt how to use social media effectively, how to stand in front of an audience or on stage and talk confidently… The list is endless. But I would not be where I was today If that scouting moment hadn’t happen. And so I thank my lucky stars that it did…
It’s a scary thing walking up to strangers – but every day I bud a new flower of confidence being Miss Lancashire?. I was also lucky enough to have my friends beside me helping me learn and encouraging me to face my fears!
Congratulations to Christina and Lucy on their new titles; Team North is getting stronger day by day!
Lovely to see all the girls today and Mark and restore some motivation after the University Exam period?!
