‘Always have the can-do attitude’ – Miss Lancashire 2014-2015

Turn your weaknesses into strengths and your strengths into weapons

Well what an exciting week, I’ve had the privilege to join a younger generation of men and women as Miss Lancashire, at a local school in Preston.

Miss Lancashire – Mary-Kate, empowering young girls.

I spent my Friday afternoon being interviewed and sharing my journey to a Citizenship class addressing ‘Body Image and Self worth’.

I had the opportunity to share about my Miss England experiences and the incredible work they do as well as displaying a positive example of how to overcome inner demons and question about body image, by introducing a healthy mind-set and lifestyle that I have implemented, through my Christian faith as the strong foundation.

My mentality is this: Turn your weaknesses into strengths and your strengths into weapons.

No event or challenge in your life is ever wasted, in fact each can be lessons or encouragement for others that come into your life battling with the same issues. Every day I am challenged in new ways. My only hope is that I never stop learning and keep conquering my fears so I can use them to my advantage and inspire others.

Miss Lancashire Quote of the week:

‘Always have a can do attitude’
When you have a can do attitude you’ll find more opportunities come your way, because people will see that you’re a reliable character, which is one of the best characteristic to have!

After completing my schools workshop this week, I was introduced to the senior leadership of Penwortham Girls High school, whom have requested that I return and deliver talks to each year group during Assemblies and class events.

Never miss an opportunity to say yes, because it may only be for that moment, and never come around again! I can’t wait to crack on with more Schools projects across Lancashire.

Much Love –
